Paris 2024 at Tokyo 2020

On September 5th, Paris will officially receive the Paralympic flag from Tokyo, marking the French capital’s accession as the next host city of the Summer Paralympic Games – the first ever to take place in France.

To mark this historic moment, parallel media programmes are planned in Tokyo (for Tokyo 2020

accredited media) and in Paris (open to a wider range of national and international outlets.)

Live des Jeux in Paris – Trocadero

Across the final weekend of the Paralympic Games (3-5 September), a full media programme will run alongside activities taking place at the Live des Jeux live site in the gardens of the Trocadero, culminating in a public celebration to mark the Handover of the Paralympic Flag to Paris as part of the Closing Ceremony of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Opportunities for media will include content capture and interviews with key personalities linked to the Paris 2024 Games and Handover Ceremony, led by Paris 2024 President Tony Estanguet.
